I think my favorite part of this is how if you didn’t know the story of Dungeon Meshi, you might look at this and wonder “gosh wow it’s so weird and suggestive that this sleeping woman is placed on a table full of food as if the artist was in fact equating her on some level with actual food, is if her body is indeed just another piece of raw meat; I wonder what the intended meaning is here, could this be a comment about the sexual objectification of young women?” But if you’ve actually read volume 14 of Dunmeshi—
